Gurkha 125th Anniversary Toro: a three-region anniversary blend

Gurkha built its whole brand around opulence and anniversary editions, and the 125th Anniversary is a greeting from an old cigar house. This 6x52 toro wears an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and hides a three-country blend inside: Brazil, Dominican Republic, and Nicaragua. It's a complex cigar for someone who loves layered flavor.

An anniversary edition

Gurkha is famous for storytelling around heritage and limited lines marked with a year. The 125th Anniversary is one of those tributes, blended to carry the richness an anniversary deserves.

The 6-inch toro at 52 ring is a familiar medium-large size, long enough that a multi-component blend has room to develop slowly across each third.

A three-region blend and the Habano wrapper

The wrapper is Ecuadorian Habano, a leaf prized for its smoothness and its ability to deliver flavor that is both full and balanced. The binder is also from Ecuador, keeping the structure unified.

The interesting part is the filler: a blend of leaves from Brazil, the Dominican Republic, and Nicaragua. Each region contributes a character, Brazil for depth and sweetness, the Dominican for softness, Nicaragua for spice and power.

The flavor journey from light to nub

This cigar opens with a complex of wood and leather, the classic foundation of a well-blended medium stick. Through the middle, coffee and vanilla rise, softening and rounding the flavor.

Toward the end, a gentle spice arrives for a lively finish. Because the strength stays at medium, this is an easy cigar to enjoy along its full length without tiring the palate.

Who it's for

It suits someone who wants a cigar with many flavor layers but not too much strength, a medium stick that stays complex enough to hold your attention. It's a good choice for a long, relaxing evening.

It pairs well with coffee or a smooth red wine. Allow at least an hour and let the layers reveal themselves at their own pace.
