Undercrown 10 Toro: the rollers' own cigar

The story of the rollers

Undercrown did not begin in a marketing room but at the rolling table. The artisans loved the Liga Privada line, but it was too scarce for them to smoke, so they blended their own recipe good enough to be their personal stick. That became Undercrown.

This 10 Toro marks a decade of that story, a tribute to a cigar that grew out of genuine love for the craft.

The trio of leaf

A Toro at 6 inches, ring gauge 52, with a firm body. The wrapper is Negro leaf from the San Andrés region of Mexico, a maduro leaf prized by connoisseurs for its sweetness and depth.

The binder is stalk-cut Habano from the Connecticut River valley, while the filler blends Brazilian Mata Fina and Nicaragua. Each leaf contributes a piece: Mexico for sweetness, Brazil for depth, Nicaragua for strength.

The journey on the palate

The San Andrés leaf brings its own distinctive dark sweetness: bitter cocoa, espresso and roasted wood. The middle deepens with spice and a touch of earth, then the finish settles into a dark-chocolate sweetness.

This is a true maduro, full and complex, yet smooth enough not to overwhelm those still new to full-bodied flavors.

Enjoyment and the right occasion

This is a cigar for a relaxed evening, when you have the time to feel each layer unfold. Smoke it slowly; the draw is thick and rich.

It pairs wonderfully with strong coffee, red wine or a glass of bourbon. A stick for those who already love maduro and want a name with a deep story behind it.
