Zino Platinum Scepter Gran Master: elegance for the seasoned palate

The Zino Platinum Scepter Serie Gran Master is for the smoker who prefers refinement over noise. A pale, silk-smooth Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper holds a mild to medium blend that still carries plenty of flavor. This is the taste of connoisseurs who have moved past the love of full-bodied and circled back to elegance.

The Zino name and a philosophy of grace

Zino Davidoff named this line after himself, and that spirit runs through every cigar: never loud, only refined. Scepter means a royal staff, and indeed the Gran Master carries a quiet, regal poise in the hand.

This is not a cigar that impresses through strength. It wins you over with balance, with the way every layer of flavor blends together smoothly rather than competing to be heard.

The blend and the shape

The Robusto / Grand Master shape, 140 mm long with a ring gauge of 52, is the most comfortable size for an unhurried smoke. The Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper gives that signature pale golden-brown tone, with a US Connecticut binder and filler blended from the Dominican Republic and Peru.

The Dominican and Peruvian pairing is the interesting part: Peru lends earthy sweetness and a creamy body, while the Dominican keeps the smoke smooth and easygoing throughout.

The flavor journey

The first draws open with wood and cream, soft and round. As you go, cedar and coffee come into focus, with a touch of white pepper slipping in near the end to keep things from turning too sweet.

This is the kind of flavor that never ambushes the palate but leads it gently. You realize you are halfway down the cigar and still nowhere near tired of it.

The experience and the moment

A full smoke runs about 60 to 75 minutes, with a light and even draw. Its mild to medium strength means you can enjoy it even on a not-quite-full stomach, something many full-bodied sticks will not forgive.

It pairs best with a morning coffee or an afternoon tea, when you want a cigar to keep you company rather than command the room. This is a stick for thinking, reading, or quiet conversation.
